I can’t get enough of tea and coffee shops. When living in Chicago, I was able to explore a few afternoon teas. Here is one worth visiting:
- The Allis: I would recommend making reservations for their afternoon tea. My mother and I went and were not short on food. The afternoon tea comes with a selection of finger sandwiches, cakes, and scones in addition to a tea of your choice. They offer an afternoon tea with food or a boozy option also known as the sparkling afternoon tea with cava. The afternoon tea is available on Friday and Saturdays from 2-4:30 pm. Currently the afternoon tea is $39 while the sparkling afternoon tea is $48.

Through my job, I was able to visit many coffee shops due to having breaks between seeing clients throughout the greater Chicago area. These are some of my favorites:
- Portage Grounds: This is an independent coffee shop located in Portage Park. One time when I went, the barista treated me to a tea. This definitely made my day.

- Geraldine’s: This hidden gem is located in Lincoln Square. When I lived in Chicago, my apartment was right above it. I would come here frequently for the tea and baked goods (probably a little too often). You could also step out and explore all the wonderful shops with a cup of coffee or tea while feeling like you are strolling through a European street.

- Oromo Café: I enjoyed the matcha tea latte here while doing lots of paperwork. They have two locations, one in Lincoln Square and one in Bucktown.

- The Wormhole Coffee: This coffee shop is located in the trendy Wicker Park neighborhood. It is eclectic with an 80s vibe.

These are just a few of my favorite places to visit in Chicago.
